1. Membership: - Please Note there is a waiting list for Full Membership

1.1. Membership is limited to people who meet one or more of the following criteria: -

Actively involved with the operation of miniature railways.

The manufacturers of miniature railway equipment.

Authors who are actively involved in the documentation of miniature railways.

1.2. There are four categories of membership: -

Full

Associate

Honorary

Overseas

All society members receive a copy of The Heywood Society Journal, which is published twice a year.

The subscription for Full, Associate and Overseas Members is set at the Annual General Meeting.

1.2.1. Full Members: -

Full Members meet the criteria set down in 1.1. and must be resident within the British Postal Code system.

The number of Full Members is limited to a maximum of 100 at any one time.

Full Members have the right to attend all meetings and have voting rights at General Meetings and in Postal Ballots.

1.2.2. Associate Members: -

Associate Members may be either: -

a) People who wish to become full members when a vacancy arises

b) Full members who are no longer as active as they once were but who wish to maintain contact with the Society.

Associate Members must meet the criteria set down in 1.1.

Associate members wishing to become Full Members may apply to the Secretary for their application to be
considered by the Committee.

Associate Members have the right to attend but do not have voting rights at General Meetings or in Postal Ballots.

1.2.3. Honorary Members: -

The Committee has the power to elect any former Full Member to become an Honorary Life Member for exceptional services to the Society and /or miniature railways.

Honorary Members have the right to attend all meetings and have voting rights at General Meetings and in Postal Ballots.

Honorary members are exempt from payment of subscriptions.

1.2.4. Overseas Members: -

There is a limit of 20 Overseas Members who must meet the criteria set down in 1.1.

Overseas members are people who are resident outside the British Post Code System.

Overseas members have the right to attend all meetings and have voting rights at General Meetings and in Postal Ballots.
